Hello everyone,
it‘s me again after another long break. Since the last post, nothing changed dramatically in my life: still struggling to not drawn in my feelings and to cope with work and family time (unsuccessfully).
It is a really stressful time of the year!
The only things that seems to help me disconnect from the all-day stress, are my hobbies and handcrafting activities.

A girlfriend just told me she is becoming mother soon and I promptly started thinking: how can I show her, how grateful I am for sharing this with me?
Winter time is Knit-time at home, so I set aside the blanket for my son to engage on a one-hour knit project for this little creature.
I found this free-pattern at lovecrafts.com and I thought, those cute little booties will be the perfect gift for a newborn in those freezing months.
For this project, I select a Super-soft baby yarn in cool tones and a 3mm knitting needle. Following the instructions I knitted the two pieces in garter stitch.

At last, I sew seam top to bottom sole and…Done!
You have knitted a cute pair of newborn booties.
I chose to embellish mine with a pom-pom as described in the pattern, but you can choose whatever you like to decorate them. Surely a crocheted string or some colorful buttons will add that something to these cuties.

You will find the free pattern here below, so you can knit along while reading.
SIZE
0/3 months (one size)
MATERIALS
1 ball of Baby Yarn (Merino or similar)
1 pair of 3 mm (UK 11) knitting needles
Upper part
Using 3 mm needles, cast on 39 stitches and work 24 rows in garter stitch.
Sole
Using 3 mm needles, cast on 15 stitches and work in garter stitch.
After 16 rows have been worked, mark stitch on the right edge (this will be the first position point for assembly).
When 38 rows have been worked, cast off all stitches and mark the center stitch as the 2nd position point for assembly.
MAKE UP
Fold upper by positioning points A on top of each other and sewing seam according to colored lines.
Sew sole to upper, matching points A and B and curving angles of sole.
Assemble other bootie in reverse.

Hope you will have some fun knitting these. Show me your creations and drop me a comment below about this easy-peasy project from Phildar.
Sending lots of love,
Lalla
